The Slow Life Adventures – Week 30 / 2026

A new newsletter-style series about life lately, the things we’ve done and the things we haven’t.

At the end of the day, life is about meeting new people, trying new food, and simply making the most of the time we have. This week was filled with new experiences, lovely conversations, and plenty of fun. One particular highlight was our shoot at Residenzschloss Heidecksburg for an article that will be published very soon. But more on that later.

This week also reminded us of something very special: our journey through Italy. I had a brief but truly wonderful conversation with Riccardo (Instagram: @riccardofaddaa), who was travelling through Venice at the time. I simply couldn’t resist reaching out to congratulate him on his beautiful photographs—you should definitely take a look at them too.

Riccardo is from Cagliari, the capital of Sardinia, situated on the island’s southern coast. Aside from the fact that his hometown has around 120,000 more residents than mine, even a short conversation with him was enough to remind me just how genuinely warm and welcoming Italians are.

We briefly spoke about Italy’s most beautiful cities and our own journey in September 2025, when we travelled across the country with Trenitalia from Verona and Venice to Florence and Rome. Each Italian city has a charm entirely of its own. But perhaps the same is true of every city in the world if only we take the time to look closely enough.

Even more beautiful than a country’s cities and landscapes (apart from its traditional cuisine, of course) are undoubtedly its people.

Italians (much like the Japanese or the Spanish) are genuinely warm and welcoming people, once you venture beyond the overcrowded tourist hotspots. In fact, almost every country seems to have its own sense of warmth and joie de vivre with the possible exception of the most narrow-minded country I know: Germany.

But never mind. We are here to celebrate the finer things in life. And since I admire Riccardo’s work so much, there is no way I am letting you leave without taking a look for yourselves:

During a brief conversation about the Netflix series Ripley, its filming locations across Italy, and Caravaggio’s works in Florence and Rome, Riccardo brought back many wonderful memories of that time. Thank you so much for that.

Staying with the Italian theme, a very special order from Naples also arrived this week: the NR Napoli Trouser, NRP Mod. 1C.

NR Napoli had been on my list of brands to try for quite some time. The Navy Cotton-Linen Deck Trouser is made from a magnificent limited-edition archival cotton-linen fabric, originally sourced from Ralph Lauren Textiles, and was created in collaboration with the W.M. Brown Project.

Unfortunately, I made a slight mistake when taking and comparing the measurements. Something I intend to have corrected very soon – as the trousers are a little too long. Thankfully, they are not too short, so the alteration should be fairly straightforward. I also couldn’t quite decide between two waist sizes and chose the larger one to be on the safe side. This means my local tailor will have to make another small adjustment.

Hopefully, the alterations can be completed quickly so I can finally wear this wonderful piece. I must also mention that the communication with Nicola could not have been better. You will soon see the trousers featured in new Catwalks on our Instagram account.

It has been a wonderful week in the sartorial world, and we kindly ask you to be a little more patient until all the new editorials and reviews are ready for you to discover.

Until then, we hope you have an equally wonderful time.

Meow & Ciao
